Fishing Report July 3rd- 9th

July 3rd – This week we were very happy to welcome some French Anglers to Ballisodare fishery. Conditions were favourable with most of these anglers landing some nice salmon. Twenty eight fish were reported in total today with eleven of those released. Average weight of those killed was 5lb while those released ranged between 3 and 4lb. Most popular methods working today was the prawn and the worm.
July 4th – Another good day at Ballisodare with thirty two fish reported, six of which were released. Again Our French Anglers were very successful with many caught and many more released. One club member Gabriel Mc Keon was delighted when he landed two lovely salmon weighing 10lb and 7lb both caught on the worm. Again the prawn and the worm proved to be the most popular method of fishing.
July 5th - Niall Walton for Voya Seaweed baths was the first angler of the day to land two nice salmon weighing 5 and 4lb both caught on the worm. Most of our French anglers managed to land pairs of salmon today average weight 5lb caught on the worm. Other club members were successful too catching fish on the fly and the worm. Sixteen fish were released today approximate weight between 3 and 4lb.
July 6th –Good numbers of fish moving and caught today with twenty nine killed and ten more released. Again the worm and the prawn are proving to be the most popular at the moment with just a few caught on the fly.
July 7th- Our French anglers were out in good numbers again this morning with most of them landing fish of different sizes averaging about 5lb weight. Most of those caught today were landed on the worm. Visiting Angler Philip Mc Grath was very successful netting two fine salmon weighing 7lb and 10lb both caught on the worm. Five Fish released today average weight 3lb.
July 8th- The warm temperatures and sunny conditions are resulting in fewer fish being caught today. However there were fourteen fish killed and seven more released. The average weight of those killed was 6lb while the average weight of those released was between 3 and 4lb. Both the fly and the worm were working well today.
July 9th - Twenty Nine fish reported today eleven of those were released. Some of our club members were successful killing some and releasing more. The fly and the worm proved the most successful today. Average weight of those killed was 5lb while the average weight of those released was between 3 and 4lb.

Some Rain would be very welcome here at Ballisodare to raise the water levels but we will just have to wait and see.
