Fishing Report June 10th – June 16th 2019

The rush is on as the grilse are well and truly on the move this week. In with the tide they were eager to get straight up through the ladder and with water levels perfect up the river following the flood last week, there was plenty of fish to go around.

Cool temperatures averaging 14°c gave ideal fishing conditions. Fishing from both sides of the river there were some lovely catches all the way through to the weekend.

Paddy Loughlin opened his season with a lovely 9lb fish followed by his second later in the afternoon. Ken Tucker caught a trio of fish over a couple of days from Joes Hole, Dennis Crawley had a beautiful 9lb on the fly and Neil Stewart caught a great fresh 10lb Salmon on the worm showing there are still some super spring fish going through the system

Average weight over the week was around 5lb with 21 fish released. The water levels up river are beginning to drop again so it will be interesting to see how long the current levels remain.
