Fishing Report June 12th- 18th

June 12th – Twenty Eight fish reported caught today ranging in weights from 5 to 6lb. All methods used, the fly, worm and the prawn. Four fish released. The fly and the worm are the most effective means with a few only caught on the prawn.
June 13th- Thirty seven fish reported caught. Lots of double figure fish were caught and released. Average weight 6lb mostly caught on the fly and the worm. Club member Gerry Merrick caught a nice 6lb salmon on the fly.
June 14th – Thirty Four fish reported caught with six of those released. Club member Joseph Walsh landed a lovely 11lb salmon on the fly. Other fish caught ranged in weights from 3 to 5 lb. Fish caught on both fly and worm.
June 15th – Twenty nine salmon caught. Tom Devaney caught a nice 6lb salmon on the fly up River while David O ‘Connor also caught a 5lb salmon on the fly up River. Six of those were released. Average weight 6lb.
June 16th – Twenty Two Salmon reported caught today. Amongst them was an Italian visitor Eugenio Raffi who landed a nice 5lb salmon on the worm.
June 17th- Twenty Seven salmon caught today twelve of those were released. Average weight was 6lb. Amongst the successful anglers were Ken Hunter catching a nice 5lb fish on the worm and Spencer Wolf catching two fish weighing between 3 and 5 lb both caught on the fly.
June 18th- Dryer conditions are slowing the fishing down. Still eighteen fish caught today seven of those were released. The fly and the worm were the most effective methods.
Overall a good week with many caught and many more released.
