Fishing Report June 3rd – June 9th 2019

After the initial flood before the previous weekend the waters dropped significantly leaving Bank Holiday Monday with plenty of fish in the River.

The Grilse were very apparent this week, though there were still some lovely spring fish there too.

The average weight was bolstered by two lovely fish caught by Phillip Soden and Gerry McHugh, both around 9lb on the fly. The rest averaged around 4lb with 5 caught and 11 released.

Mid-week brought heavy rain and the system was completely in Flood. The volume of water coming through the Falls was spectacular, with the noise levels incredible.

Conditions for the weekend were much better with fishing up river proving to be perfect.
23 fish were caught up river by Members and visitors alike and 8 released over the weekend.

The average weight for the week was 5lb with Alexander Mills landing a lovely 7lb Salmon in the evening on Friday.
