Fishing Report May 20th – May 26th 2019

Temperatures and water levels remained low for the time of year with highs of only 16°c on a couple of days.

Paddy McGee arrived early on Thursday morning, only to catch a lovely 8lb salmon, on the worm, after just 5 casts. This started a great trend for the day and the rest of the week.

Our first fish caught on the prawn was taken by Thierry and followed by his 2 friends with a 4lb and 3lb respectively. David Dumican then caught a beautiful 10lb springer on the Fly.

The next day Spanish visitors Andres, Javier and Lorenzo each caught great spring fish averaging 8½lb and a further 8lb fish was released by a member.

Light rain showers on Saturday 25th was not enough to help the levels up river but the falls still delivered for Donagh McDonnell 8lb on the worm and Michael Mullaney 12lb on the Fly.

Rain is forecast for next week and the Bank Holiday weekend which should help the water levels.
