Report 3rd April - 12th April

Between April 3rd and April 12th 33 salmon have been caught at Ballisodare on worm, fly and on the prawn, with several fish released.

Saturday April 4th -  Despite high water Philip Soden had a nice fish of 9lb on worm, while Denis Crawley had one of 7lb on the worm.

Sunday April 5th - The first on the fly was landed, a nice fish of 7lb taken on the fly by John Scanlon from Joe's on a posh tosh.

Monday April 6th - John Scanlon had another 2 on the fly (releasing the first) weighing 6lb and 7lb respectively both caught at Harrissons, visiting angler john Joe O'Neill had his first of the season weighing in at just over 8lb on the worm, Denis Barritt had a fish of 6lb 12 oz taken on the worm from Harrissons and Mark Graham released a fish on the fly weighing about 6lb.

Tuesday April 7th - 4 fish were caught on the worm by Chris Kitchen (6lb), Albert Shaw (6lb), Clive O'Neill (8.5lb), William Rainey (9lb), while Denis Crawley caught one of 8.5lb on the fly. 

Wednesday April 8th - Francie Kerins had a nice fish of 9.5lb on the worm, Pat Hagan had his first weighing 7lb on the fly and Gareth Norris had one 5lb on the fly.

Thursday April 9th - 4 fish were caught, 2 on the worm by Fechin McMorrow (7lb) and Lawrence (9lb), and 2 were caught on the fly by Patrick O'Connor (11.5 lb) and Dermot Glennon released one of about 8lb at the falls.

Friday April 10th - Sean Maye had his first, a nice fish of 8.5lb taken at the falls on the fly, Noel Barber released a fish of 6lb off the fly at harrissons.

Saturday April 11th - Thomas O'Donovan (Jnr) caught the first fish on the prawn at the falls weighing 8lb, Ronan Hoey had a fish of 6lb on the worm at harrissons, Noel Barber had one on the fly and John Lawlor had a fish of 6.5lb on the worm. 

Sunday April 12th - Sean Maye had another fish at the falls on the fly weighing 9.5lb, Tommy Colgan and John Murray both had their first fish of the season, both at the falls, both on the fly, and both weighing 8.5lb!

stuart Blair released a fish of 6lb on the prawn at the falls, Noel Barber released two fish weighing 10lb and 7lb on the fly, Gerry McHugh also released a fish of about 6lb on the fly.
