Water levels drop at Ballisodare doing the fishing no favours, but still 12 fish caught for the week.
Monday April 20th was slow with only a few anglers fishing, Chris Kitchen had a fish 11.5lb on worm after only 5 minutes fishing, Denis Barritt had a fish 7lb also on the worm and David Crawley released a 5lb fish on the fly.
Jimmy Cuffe clicked on Tuesday with his first of the season, a nice 8lb fish on the fly (on the JM special), Tom Devaney had a 9lb fish on the fly and Denis Crawley released a fish 6lb on the fly. River started to drop off at this stage with a bit of water needed to freshen things up.
Wednesday was visiting angler John Fingerton’s lucky day when he landed a fish of 9.5lb on the worm up river after only a few casts. A short days fishing but a good one all the same.
Frank Adams released a fish of 4lb on the fly on Thursday caught on “The wall” at harrissons.
On Friday, David Crawley landed a nice 8lb fish on the fly at Harrissons on a cascade.
On Saturday April 25th visiting angler Stuart Morgan got a nice fish weighing apprx. 7lb on the prawn at the fall’s when the tide was just going back. Paul Colreavy had a fish of 8.5lb on the fly at harrissons taken on the posh tosh tube fly.
On Sunday April 26th Heather Chambers had a nice 8lb springer on the worm up river.
Hoping for some rain to liven things up, plenty of fish in the river, let’s hope the fishing continues to be good!
