Fishing Report 29th May - 4th June

May 29th – Ballisodare River still very low. A good flood would be most welcome at this stage. Three fish reported at the falls 4lb and 5lb caught on the fly and 4.5lb caught on the worm. Up River David Crawley caught a nice 7lb fish on the fly while Donagh Mc Donnell caught a 5lb fish on the worm. Three more released average weight 5lb all caught on the fly.
May 30th – Six Fish reported today caught on both the fly and worm average weight 5lb. six more released all caught on the fly average weight 5lb.
May 31st – Seven fish caught today. Visiting angler Andi Binder was pleased with his catch a nice 5lb salmon caught on the worm. Niall Taylor was also very happy when he landed a lovely 14lb salmon on the fly. Two more released both caught on the fly average weight 4lb.
June 1st – Six fish reported today the largest which was caught on the worm by John Shiels weighing in at 9lb caught on the worm. The others were caught on both the fly and the prawn average weight 5lb.
June 2nd – River fishing well today. Thirteen fish caught and ten more released. Billy Davitt caught two nice fish on the worm weighing 4lb and 5lb. Other anglers caught two fish also on the fly and worm with two caught on the prawn average weight 5lb. Ten fish released today caught on the prawn and the fly average weight 4lb.
June 3rd – Seven fish reported today caught on the fly and the prawn the largest a nice 9lb salmon caught on the fly. Seven more released average weight 5lb.
June 4th - The heavy rain all night keeps the fish moving in Ballisodare River. Seven fish caught today on the fly the prawn and the worm average weight 5lb. Eight more released average weight 4lb.
Overall good numbers of salmon recorded for the week.
