Fishing Report April 1st May - 7th May 2017

May 1st – Two fish released today both caught on the fly average weight 6lb.
May 2nd – Leslie Cooper landed a lovely 9lb salmon on the worm while Michael Kitchen released an 8lb fish on the worm.
May 3rd – Conditions are proving difficult on Ballisodare River with few fish being caught due to the low water levels and sunny conditions. Amongst the few successful Anglers were three generations of English visitors – Grandfather Son and Grandson who were very happy with their day. Jack Mullaney caught a 12lb fish on the fly while his Dad Garry released a 9.5 lb fish caught on the fly with Grandfather Jim netting a nice 7lb fish on the worm.
May 4th – Hot sunny conditions so water levels are low.
May 5th – Similar conditions today with few Anglers fishing.
May 6th – The prolonged drought means that very few fishermen are having any success here at Ballisodare.
May 7th – Water levels still low however one nice fish weighing 11lb was caught on the worm today.
